PLENARY STAGE DESIGN AND CONFERENCE OPENING PERFORMANCE

SMACC is a medical conference with a focus on emergency and trauma practices.  The brief developed with the client was Tribal as they see the different organisations who come together to produce this conference as being part of a broader tribe.  With a nod to old Hollywood and a desire to create a fun design we placed the presenters on stage in an explorers base camp setting surrounded by totems, tiki’s and an Aztec temple in the distance.  For the opening ceremony we created a surround sound sound scape to set the tropical jungle scene, perfumed the air with scent cannons, tribal drummers placed around the auditorium completed the initial picture.  Fire and LED graphic poi artists performed on stage and were joined by the drummers for the finale.  Confetti cannons fired across the stage completing the opening ceremony and the final touch of the stage design by covering the stage floor in a forest green.
